La Valiente Guesthouse is our beautiful artist retreat + home for rent in the center of Antigua.

Set right in the heart of Antigua, among the city’s cobblestone streets, Luna Zorro founder Molly Berry and her husband Juan Bronson purchased, restored and remodeled the property from March 2023 to February 2026. Now finally open to the public, La Valiente reflects a slow, thoughtful approach to design — one shaped by creativity, craftsmanship, and everyday living. All the wood used for furniture, beams, roofing, and paneled walls was sourced from the family’s tropical hardwood tree farm on the Caribbean coast of Guatemala, all textiles were handwoven by Luna Zorro artisan partners, and most ceramics, including a lot of lighting, was made locally.

Designed to host up to four guests, La Valiente is for those who value beauty, local culture, and a sense of place. Whether you’re arriving to reset, work remotely, or simply experience Antigua at the center, the house offers a warm, grounding place to stay — inviting, comfortable, and deeply connected to its surroundings.

  • The Guest House - La Valiente

La Valiente is a restored home in the center of Antigua and includes two private guest rooms, along with two private artist loft spaces that encourage both creativity and ease. It’s a place designed to be lived in slowly — where days unfold naturally and there’s room to both focus and drift.

Home to Mandarina Coffeehouse in the front commercial space connected to the building, La Valiente is anchored to the vibrancy and heart of Antigua, mornings and soft afternoons with coffee, conversation, and the gentle rhythm of the neighborhood. Inside your own private guesthouse, there is a separate space to live, rest, swim, work, and create, allowing you to settle into a project without retreating entirely from the life of the city.

Throughout the home, natural materials shape the atmosphere. The result is a space that feels grounded and welcoming — thoughtful without feeling precious, creative without being performative, modern while enitrely made from locally sourced materials.

  • Artist Residencies

Our Artist Residency Program runs on an revolving calendar and welcomes creatives from around the world to live and work in Antigua for a dedicated period of artistic exploration and cultural immersion.

Artists are selected to take part and we work closely with local artists and artisans to support and help plan their process such as sourcing materials, connecting with local suppliers, and ensuring they have what they need to bring their ideas to life.

Residents stay in La Valiente, have free and full access to our creative workspace within the Luna Zorro studio, and the freedom to shape their time according to their practice.

We warmly welcome artists across disciplines. The residency is flexible, designed to support experimentation, learning, and cultural exchange rather than fixed outcomes.

Dates are flexible though we do require a minimum of a one week stay. Transportation to and from Guatemala airport is included.
