Luna Zorro Founder, Molly Berry + Conscious Chatter Podcast

Posted by Molly Berry on

I was recently invited to be a guest on the podcast Conscious Chatter with Kestrel Jenkins, founder of AWEAR World. Kestrel's show is a fantastic resource for all those who want to be more informed consumers. Her thought provoking episodes pack a punch, revolving around fashion, style, and sustainability. From designers and entrepreneurs to farmers and factory workers, her guests all have a place in the global garment supply chain. In our conversation, I go into how I have navigated my life after college as a creative person who was always hesitant to go down "traditional" paths, how I managed...

Luna Zorro + Chileno Bay : Artisan Details in a Luxury Setting

Posted by Molly Berry on

I was recently invited by the management team of Auberge Chileno Bay to visit their property for a short stay. This is the resort in Los Cabos, Mexico where our Luna Zorro custom robes are featured, a fantastic project you can read more about here. Obviously, I jumped at the opportunity. Not only was I super excited to see our robes "in their element" but I was really looking forward to meeting our client face-to-face and saying thank you in person. Defining Moments that Make Entrepreneurship Worthwhile

Posted by Molly Berry on

Not long ago, Luna Zorro experienced a defining moment. Auberge Resort Collections contacted me, interested in purchasing custom robes for their Los Cabos property. I knew that a major opportunity was on the horizon. It was exactly the kind of client and order size that I'd been preparing for and working towards: a very large, custom order for a luxury hotel. This was my chance to prove what Luna Zorro could do. I started by designing and sending samples customized specifically for the Auberge project. I rallied my weavers and we crunched numbers. I researched everything from shipping to manufacturing...

Artisan Adventures with The Thread Caravan

Posted by Molly Berry on

I'm always up for a trip to Lake Atitlan. About a 2+ hour drive from Antigua, I visit the lake often because many of the weavers that I work with live there. But also, Lake Atitlan happens to be an incredibly beautiful and magical destination so I go as often as I can. This week, I had an exceptionally unique visit when I tagged along with my friend Caitlin Garcia-Ahern and her company, The Thread Caravan. In short, The Thread Caravan offers artisan adventures around Latin America. Whether it's learning how to make Mezcal in Oaxaca, Mexico or sailing through...

50 Days of Spontaneous Creativity With Minted

Posted by Molly Berry on

Have you ever heard of the incredible market place for designers know as Minted? Minted was founded in 2007 by worldly girlboss, Mariam Naficy (featured below). The concept emerged when Mariam was struck by the idea that there was hidden creative talent around the world whose work was not accessible to consumers. She believed that the Internet could help surface these hidden talents. Her founding question: could crowd-sourcing design build an e-commerce company that stayed in tune with its consumer audience forever? What has grown since 2007 is remarkable. I was recently invited to be a part of the The...
